Amelia Island Garden Show

The inaugural Amelia Island Garden Show hosted by the Fernandina Farmers Market will roll out nature's brightest colors for 2 days. With growers and nurseries from around the state, the Amelia Island Garden Show will feature more than 50 vendors with a full assortment of flowers, plants, trees and palms, orchids, bonsai, water pond accessories, native plants, butterfly-friendly plants, shrubs and garden accessories. Get on-site expert advice about how to "green" your home, yard and garden and enjoy the short presentations and demonstrations at the "Ask the Expert" booth. There will be live local music and the vendors of the Fernandina Farmers Market will move to Central Park for the Show with their produce and expanded menu of prepared foods.

Sandblast at Seaside Beach

The Amelia Island Tourist Development Council and the American Institute of Architects Jacksonville Chapter announce the Inaugural Sandblast Competition.
The Inaugural Sandblast Competition will be held at Seaside Beach on beautiful Amelia Island March 19 – 21, 2010. Teams will construct sandcastles of all shapes and sizes in the quest for prizes and awards.

Katie Ride For Life Organ Donar Awareness Cycling Event

Recyle Your Life! Get your feet in gear for a great cause: Organ Donation Awareness.
The 6th Annual Katie Ride for Life, sponsored by the transplant center at Mayo Clinic, takes place Saturday, April 17 at the Recreation Center, 2500 Atlantic Avenue.
The Katie Ride is a cycling event for all skill levels and is held to raise awareness on the importance of organ donation. Katie Ride for Life also offers a 5k and 10k walk through beautiful Fort Clinch State Park. Riders and walkers will raise funds for a unique high school organ donor education program.
