9 Krispy Kreme donuts, day old
1/2 cup sugar plus 1 tbsp sugar
2 large eggs 2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg
3 cups whole milk

1. Butter a 2 quart baking dish and set aside.
2. Cut donuts into 1/2 inch cubes and spread them evenly in baking dish.
3. In a bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over donuts.
4. Let rest for an hour.
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
6. Make a water bath for the pudding by placing the baking dish in a shallow, oven-proof pan.
7. Fill pan with warm water.
8. Place pans in oven and bake for 70 to 75 minutes, center should be firm.
9. Serve warm or cold.

This bread pudding is particulary nice when served with a fruit glaze drizzled over the top.
