Boil 5 minutes and let cool:
• 2 cups raisins
• 1 cup water
Cream:
• 1 cup shortening
• 3 eggs
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla
Add raisins and water.
Sift:
• 4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 2 tsp salt
• 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
• ¼ tsp nutmeg
• ¼ tsp allspice
Add to raisin mixture, then add 1 cup chopped nuts. Mix, then drop by spoonfuls onto a greased pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 doz.
